Who doesn’t love a celebration – especially one that cleans up! For the second year running, Clean Planet is celebrating a Master Franchisee of the Year 2022 win at the Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards.
We proudly congratulate Clean Planet’s Rotorua Master Regional Franchisee Praneel Nair for winning the Westpac Franchise Awards 2022. For our Rotorua MRF Praneel, the award represents so much more than a trophy to pop on the shelf. It represents hard work, dedication, growth and commitment to building a business that works for him and the planet.
Praneel and his wife, Sheetal, joined the Clean Planet family in 2020 as Regional Franchise owners of Rotorua. Today they have extended their business to two more regions, Taupo and Tokoroa. After selling a courier business he had run for 10 years, Praneel decided to switch to the cleaning industry as he realised cleaning was a service that would always be needed and an industry with growth.
“Before purchasing Clean Planet’s Rotorua Master Franchise, I checked opportunities with competitors in the region and found that Clean Planet matched my requirements best. I found the competitors were not as flexible and didn’t allow the level of autonomy that Clean Planet did,” says Praneel.
Through hard work and targeted effort, the region now has six franchises and nearly 60 customers, with an annualised turnover of $650k and growing. The results have allowed Praneel to expand into Tokoroa and Taupo early this year. “We now have customers in these locations worth around $100k in revenue annually, with a new franchise having started in Taupo in June 2022”, states Praneel.
The Franchise Association of New Zealand (FANZ) asked the Master Franchise of the year, “what is the one thing that he learned in business that helped him as an MRF to become better at business”. Praneel replies humbly, “The one thing I learnt in the business is you have to be honest with the customers and be reliable all the time.”
Praneel recommends becoming an MRF or Franchisee with Clean Planet. For franchisees to come on board with Clean Planet, the entry-level turnover is about $40k. We give $50k to $60k, which is about $10k to $20k above the purchased turnover. And most importantly, he assures 24/7 support and guidance to his franchisees.
